Wall of Laughter
2012-2014 | Installation
From September 2011 to June 2012, Nicolas Favreau filmed the smiles and laughter of Parisians affected by intellectual handicaps or brain injury. These laughters became the hero of a travelling exhibition designed as a tribute to their incredible capacity to deal with their handicap, and rejoice in life in a sincere and unpretentious way. Wall of Laughter is our way of celebrating their enthusiasm, despite the reality of their handicap.
The first chapter of ‘Wall of Laughter’ was exhibited at the heart of one of the world’s most prestigious shopping plazas: the Carrousel du Louvre in Paris and then travelled around Europe to inhabit public spaces, such as theatre foyer and conference hall.
